I'd like to go with Photography, but there are only 48 weeks involved until August 1, 2024.
Did you mean to end on the first of August or do you want to end on the last of August?

August 30th would be a FULL year of 52 weeks.

I'm in, Medium will be Digital Art for me.

I will try and i choose traditional medium, please, specifically Watercolor and pencils.

As a gluten for punishment, I will struggle with this digital stylus and tablet I recently bought.

By the end of the year, I shall hope to have control of this medium.

It doesn't seem to be made for left-handed artists.

The theme works for me because I do primarily landscapes and seascapes.

@Roger, nothing is made for left handed creatives...... you might however find a setting that lets you switch from right to left

Since, I'm currently using the stylus as a "mouse" with gimp. I didn't see a need to install a program.

Now, after seeing the introductory video again, I see that I need the program to change over to left-handed.

Oh good. You're able to do that?

This befuddled old coot, mistakenly downloaded the program five times....Once I realized that , I deleted four of them....Then opened the fifth...Went through the procedure proscribed.

BUT I DON'T SEE THE RESULTS

As indicated on the video, where supposedly I can convert to "Left-Handed"

The more I delve into this digital universe, the more frustrated I become


I suppose that I will have to bother my good friend again to sit by me, here in front of this computer, to, with a few clicks, solve this new problem

Well week 32 and the Eclipse was rather subtle event today but enough of one to be appreciated…
We had about a 65% eclipse here in Central Florida's Gulf Coast.

I was spoiled years ago with a viewing of 95% … that was cool.

It was very bright and sunny today and the crescent eclipse image of the sun and moon dappled in the shadows
of the trees were quite abundant and fun. During peak eclipse time, I searched the shadows under the trees
and along the house looking for a eclipse crescent to capture and bring it indoors to put on paper.

As I was walking up the porch stairs I could hear a dog down the road barking loud and continuously
so I took that image along with the sun and went to my drawing board.

The sculpture was completed about an hour before the eclipse started. As I stated before this was my third
concept and attempt to make the maquette … I scrapped the other two.

I deliberately chose photography to force me to get my big camera out more, but that isn't working.
Increasingly I do not take it out as I find it too heavy and I do not really want to post a macro shot from the garden every week.
I think I need to seriously consider going Mirrorless or the Olympus I considered a year ago.

Finally editing and posting some older images is good, but not what I wanted this challenge to be.

To be honest I think I'm just overall disheartened as I have had no sales for months...


So, less moaning and into the garden... it should be sunny later!

Week 33 has started, everyone that was in is still in. Great job!

Hello fellow challenged...

This thirty-third week's entries, both drawing and sculpture were inspired by materials
I found in one of my collection boxes . The pyramidal shape of the objects reminded
me how intriguing I find The Pyramids. How impressively massive, storied, mysterious,
and contemplative they can be.

I can’t remember what packaging I got them from but the compressed cardboard tetrahedron
shaped corner protectors are used in shipping furniture and electronics. They had been
sitting in a box of stuff for a few years.

When I first found them I thought, these are cool I could use them someday.
Well I think that day has arrived.

I glued some of these tetrahedrons together and left others in their original state.
Next i started to play with the sculptural and kinetic possibilities in space.
I was having frustrating fun trying to puzzle them together in solid form and keep them there,
Bookbinding glue seemed to do the trick.

The next trick was how to display the sculpture/maquette. Each triangle measures 4x4x6 inches and
the assembled piece measures 17 inches on the long side. Perfect for a table top sculpture.
But I also saw this work scaled up more like the pyramids themselves imposing in their land or cityscape.
I also envision them as a serene and contemplative object.

And finally, there was no way I could express this maquette in one image and what was tumbling around
in my head, so I decided to post my ideas in three versions; environment, size and attitude.

Good morning! Week 34 has now started. You all that are still in are doing great! :)

phew! Week 33 was the closest I have come to being out. I normally have something posted up by the second day of the new week but I nearly forgot and didn't get that one up until 2 days before the week would end.

Glad you made it, Shelli! Since I had to be out, due to being so ill, I have to set my alarm on Fridays so I remember to start the new weeks. :)

Shelli, I only had one week like that so far. It was a very busy week and I thought about just bailing out.

My normal Friday routine, after morning coffee, is to edit something new and upload it to FAA. I successfully achieve that goal "just about" every week.

Gaby, that you for doing all you do to keep this endeavor viable. Here's hoping you heal quickly and completely.

Hi, for week 34 I painted a colorful heart. If you like it it's probably because I used just a couple of dry petals to make it more dirty. And if you don't like it it's probably for the same reason. But I hope you like it :)

Bill, I am glad it is not just me... I had the same with a super busy week. I also usually create my work on Friday mornings and most often post them the same day or the next day. I might need to copy Gaby and set a repeating alarm. LOL

Regarding optimist or pessimist... I try to be the optimist but when I see my wine glass get looking like that I always start thinking I need to fill that half empty thing.

With four and half hours to spare I entered a quick charcoal; "Art Show"
and a equally quick sculpture sketch about art deadlines... lol... made with
polymer clay and beeswax, titled "Masking My Angst"

Wow Ed, creating such a wonderful sculpture in this short time, awesome!

I think I'm the last one this week.
I uploaded my acrylic painting of a blooming apple tree I painted yesterday for the tree challenge, before my migraine headache knocked me out.
Glad I made it in time for the 1 a week challenge.

Week 35 has started, well done, everyone who was in are still in! :)

I have two reference photos picked out for TODAY. I can't decide which one to draw, but since I like to get them done the day the new week starts (that way I won't forget), I guess I had better pick one. This is a fun challenge for me because since I had a day job (forever and ever and.....) and now I don't, I'm really enjoying getting back into drawing, even though my main artistic outlet still is photography.

It's really fun to see what all you guys come up with every week. This challenge is way more do-able than the 365 day challenge, but I DID manage to get through that one without dropping out.

Off to get the pencils out.....and maybe the pens.
